Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Elke Jeinsen grew up in Hannover, Germany. In 1986 she became Miss Hanover, and later placed second in the Miss Germany contest. Soon after the German edition of Playboy expressed interest in her, but since she'd never posed nude she had to first consult with her family and boyfriend. Good thing they consented, because Elke became Playboy Germany's Miss October 1986, and then the May 1993 Playboy of the Month. Indeed, Elke is a pioneer, as she was the first German Playmate in the U.S. Playboy and is the most photographed European Playmate ever. Besides her print work, Elke was known as "la fragola" on the daily Italian TV game show Colpo GrossoI, which had her living in Milan for a year. Now she lives in Los Angeles, where she's concentrating on acting. She's been in Wayne's World 2, Charlie's Angels and Crocodile Dundee in L.A., and she had a recurring role on Baywatch.
She's also recorded her debut CD called Elketronica with Henry Mancini's son Chris producing. Elke's hobbies include fast cars, her horse, cats and Chihuahuas, and karate, in which she has a black belt. "Knowing self-defense is awesome. I am not afraid of anyone anymore. Plus, it has helped me get a lot of acting jobs, because I don't need a stunt double!" |
